On Saturday, February 25, 2017, 7:30 p.m. at Mackenzie Hall, local musicians of all ages will lend their talents to help raise money to send orphaned and vulnerable children in Tanzania to school. This is the 4th Annual Tunes for Tanzania event in support of the Tanzania Chapter of the Canadian World Education Foundation. The program will feature performances by musicians from the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, Faculty, Students and Alumni from the UWindsor School of Creative Arts, and from the local community. A wonderful (and tasty) component of the event is a Taste of Tanzania reception following the concert.
Proceeds from Tunes 2017 will be used to send Eva, a young Maasai woman to high school. Eva was the benefactor of the first Tunes for TZ event held in 2014. She was spared becoming a 16 year old bride by the support of the Windsor community. Eva is now graduating and hopefully, with the help of the Windsor community, moving on to high school. Help us raise funds to empower this motivated and talented woman reach her goals.
Tunes for Tanzania will be an exceptional evening of music that will raise spirits and money for educational projects in Tanzania. Donations to CWEF Tanzania via our Facebook page will also be most gratefully received and receipted for income tax purposes.
